I am currently a freelance Production Manager and Stage Manager, working across both mid-scale theatre as well as music festivals and events. Recent projects include Henry V (Headlong, Shakespeare’s Globe), Passion (Hope Mill Theatre), Y Not Festival. Until recently I worked full-time as Deputy Production Manager at The Old Vic.

Surprisingly, I started off my career by cutting my teeth in the University of Leeds Backstage Society whilst studying a Mathematics degree. I soon found I was spending more time production managing student musicals than actually studying and that this was the career for me!

Since then, I have worked as a Venue Stage Manager at VAULT Festival and as stage manager and crew chief at a variety of music festivals across the UK including Y Not Festival, Truck Festival, Camden Rocks and 2Q all of which I still try and fit in every year. I then started working full time at Jacksons Lane as a Technician, where I swiftly moved up the ranks to Technical Manager. In that role, I was responsible for managing touring shows, developing new work, production managing in house shows and working towards a £3 million refurbishment project.

In my role at The Old Vic, I assisted with the technical planning of all main-house shows as well as leading on any additional programming, be it supporter events or post-show talks. Furthermore, I also managed all general administration across the technical department, including liaising with our building team and managing our off-site storage warehouse.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Production Manager’s Forum team, and am hoping to help involve aspiring production managers, offering advice and support, and providing a platform for their voices amongst the wider industry.
