The Perse School, Cambridge, is a leading independent co-educational school. We are seeking a Technical Manager to manage the backstage area of the School’s new Peter Hall Performing Arts Centre (PAC). This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced theatre technician to be at the forefront of this state-of-the-art facility, ensuring the highest levels of professional working practise and to contribute to the creation of first-class theatre productions and events.
Designed by award-winning architects Haworth Tompkins and renowned theatre consultants Charcoalblue, the PAC includes a 370+ seat auditorium with a flexible performance space, dedicated rehearsal studio, multi-purpose foyer and production workshop.
The Perse has a vibrant drama and music community and runs a Technical Theatre Company for pupils at the Upper School. Since opening in March 2018 the PAC has hosted over 100 events including school productions; classical, jazz and pop concerts; live streamed productions from the RSC; community lectures and an increasing number of external productions.
The post is full-time and full year for an annualised average of 40 hours per week. Working hours will be flexible as required for events, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends.
