The Gate theatre is looking for a Production Manager to work on Trainers… by Sylvan Oswald. The Production Manager is responsible for the planning and physical realisation of the production. You will work with the show’s Creative Team to collect, collate and oversee all technical aspects of the production to ensure it is delivered to the highest possible standard.

  • Main Duties:
    • To manage and strictly control the production budget
    • To oversee the costing, purchase and delivery of all production materials and their construction
    • To liaise with and support the director and the designers engaged by the Gate Theatre
    • To plan and produce production schedules in consultation with the artistic team (the director, set designer, sound designer and lighting designer), the Gate’s Technical Manager, Producer and Theatre Manager.
    • To co-ordinate the designers and contractors in order to meet that schedule.
    • To organise and lead weekly production and planning meetings
    • To contract all set builders and painters/scenic artists
    • To organise transportation for the production in liaison with the Gate’s Technical Manager.
    • To oversee fit-up and build of the set, to take a hands-on role throughout production week up to press night, and to oversee the Get Out.
    • To be jointly responsible, with the Gate’s Technical Manager, for ensuring that the design complies with licensing and health & safety regulations, that the theatre is always a safe working environment and that all persons follow the Gate Theatre health & safety policy.
    • To complete appropriate risk assessments for the production in liaison with the Gate’s Technical Manager.
